Commission - travel collage

Above is a commission created during the Summer of 2009. The concept behind this work is: when traveling you collect things, mementos of your trip that end up in a box under your bed, (receipts, wrappers, tickets, packaging, money, maps, postcards, photos). If you keep all of these items from your trip and then send them to me I will turn your collection into a collage commemorating your travels. I have made collages with items from Thailand, New York City, Washington DC, Philadelphia. The collage pictured above is from a Europe trip to Britain, France, and Switzerland.

collage

collage is a medium that i am constantly partaking in.  i am drawn to the idea of recycling found objects to create artwork.  feel free to check out my flickr account to see more of my images.
